Provide managed data platform solutions as a service to facilitate adoption and offer operational excellence.
Collaborate with product engineering and infrastructure teams to drive adoption of services across the company.
Develop and monitor instruments to ensure operational performance of services.
Create tooling and automation to reduce operational workload.
Establish best practices for development, deployment, and operations.
Drive service adoption throughout the organization.
Interact with developers and teams to resolve site and database issues.
What We’ll Expect From You:
Proficient in supporting MySQL/Percona Server/MariaDB in a production environment, with extensive knowledge of topics like MySQL backups, high availability, and performance tuning.
Demonstrated history of creating and automating platform solutions that meet the requirements of other engineering teams.
Familiarity with additional data technologies such as Kafka and Redis.
Proficient in SQL, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
Skilled in Xtrabackup, ProxySQL, MySQL Orchestrator, SQL query tuning, and Linux performance troubleshooting.
Knowledgeable in configuration management tools like Chef and Ansible.
What We’d Love You To Have:
Proficient in Xtrabackup, ProxySQL, MySQL Orchestrator, SQL query tuning, and Linux performance troubleshooting.
Familiarity with using Kubernetes and Hashicorp Consul.
Knowledgeable in continuous integration tools like Concourse and GitHub Actions.
Some familiarity with Go readability.
Enthusiastic about producing engineering that is resilient.
Passionate about avoiding repetition through automation (DRY principle).
What Will Not Be Expected From You:
Proven proficiency as a data scientist with a primary focus on production engineering.
Capable of automating tedious support tickets.
Adheres to a comprehensive and rigorous product roadmap and assists in defining the platform that will be developed while also wearing a product hat as needed.
