The YotaScale Platform leverages advanced machine learning to deliver cloud infrastructure optimization. The company already has flagship paying customers, including Expedia, AdRoll, and Reltio.
As a DevOps Engineer at Yotascale, you will be responsible for working closely with developers to ensure the various computing environments' streamlined operations. In this role, you will be working with some of the latest technologies: Containers, Kubernetes and Cloud. You will have the opportunity to help us deliver our product to some of the most technically sophisticated customers in the world. Great candidates will have a good understanding of application and infrastructure architectures and be disciplined around documenting operational practices.
Responsibilities
- Participate early with projects to map out operational requirements and provides guidance and experience on system options
- Participate in maintenance and troubleshooting of the operational environments
- Develop and implement best practices around Yotascale operational infrastructure and application components
- Introduce developer productivity, code quality enhancements, and process improvements
- Monitor Yotascale infrastructure for non-functional requirements such as availability, scalability, performance, and security to ensure system reliability
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems
- Design and implement security infra, including access control, VPN, policy, etc.
- Implement cost savings opportunities across the application and cloud infra
- Develop and implement data validation mechanisms
- Design and implement and enhance CI/CD pipeline and steps
- Maintain dev, QA, staging, and production environments
- Maintain and document operational procedures
- Run penetration tests
- Write scripts for data migration or other automation or testing purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working as a DevOps engineer
- Hands-on experience with AWS (and one other cloud provider)
- Bachelor's degree or higher, in Computer Science or related field
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with:
- Cloud-Native Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, AKE
- Cloud Infra and services: AWS, Azure, IAM policy, EC2, SQS, SNS, Apache Spark, Lambda,
- Database technologies: PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS, Clickhouse, Redis
- CI/CD Tools: Bitbucket, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation
- Monitoring: Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Log Mgmt tools
- Scripting: Python
- Core Security & Networking: VPCs, Gateways, Load Balancers, DNS, Certificates, etc.
- Cloud-provider certification or equivalent
