Graphic Designer

Job Description

Your work will shape how our stories are seen, shared, and remembered. Whether it’s a newsletter landing in someone’s inbox, a bold graphic on Instagram, or a campaign that sparks a conversation—we want design that speaks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design our bi-monthly newsletters (2-day turnaround) in line with Jarida’s visual identity
  • Collaborate with the editorial and outreach teams to create branded content and campaigns
  • Ensure consistency across platforms by following (and evolving) our design guide
  • Participate in creative planning and offer input on visual strategy
  • Be responsive to briefs, meet deadlines, and maintain a consistent workflow

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva, Figma—whatever you work best in)
  • Aesthetic intuition with an understanding of layout, typography, and storytelling
  • Organized and communicative—you’ll be juggling multiple small projects
  • Interest in journalism, media, or social issues is a big plus
  • A sense of shared purpose—we care deeply about what we make and who we make it with
  • Students, emerging artists, and underrepresented voices are strongly encouraged to apply

 

This position requires a minimum three-month commitment and comes with competitive compensation.
