We're hiring a QA Engineer who can test thoroughly by hand and write reliable automated E2E tests. You'll own quality across a large web product, from exploratory testing of new features to keeping the automation suite fast and trustworthy.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸
𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴
- Testing new features end to end before they ship
- Writing clear test scenarios and bug reports that a developer can reproduce in five minutes
- Thinking about what isn't in the ticket: permissions, other roles, edge cases, concurrent users
- Regression testing across a large, multi-module product
𝗘𝟮𝗘 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
- Playwright with TypeScript, against real deployed environments
- Page objects, fixtures and test data set up through the API, not by clicking through the UI
- Web-first assertions and stable selectors. No waitForTimeout, no force-clicks, no tests that can't fail
- API-level tests for business rules and permission checks the UI hides
- Keeping the suite fast, isolated and trustworthy: every test cleans up after itself
𝗖𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
- Azure DevOps pipelines, sharded test runs, reports and traces
- Investigating flaky tests to the root cause instead of adding retries
- Turning coverage gaps into a prioritised list the team can act on
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿
- 2+ years in QA, with real time spent writing automated E2E tests
- Hands-on Playwright (or Cypress/Selenium and willing to switch)
- Comfortable reading TypeScript, and ideally the backend code, to find what to test
- Understands the difference between a test that passes and a test that proves something
- Someone who writes things down: test plans, scenarios, clear bug reports
𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲
- Experience testing regulated products (healthcare, fintech or similar)
- API testing (Postman or code-based)
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or audit-driven environments
