Job Description
Octek is looking for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
The Senior Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is responsible for architecting new automated test strategies and frameworks, in addition to creating, implementing and automating testing in support of software test requirements.
The Senior SQA Engineer demonstrates innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills in addition to possessing a strong technical and programming/test automation skill set.
Job Responsibilities
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
- Identify, record, thoroughly document and track bugs.
- Stay up to date with new testing tools and testing strategies.
- Automate Quality Assurance process and continuously optimize it.
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of the identified bugs / issues.
- Perform different types of testing required whenever needed including stress testing, load testing, regression testing, performance testing and portable appliance testing.
- Attend daily standup meeting.
- Use Project management tool to update status of work items.
- Coach and mentor SQA Engineers in test plan execution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 to 6 years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with black box testing.
- Holds expertise in using automated testing tools.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- White box testing, QA Automation, knowledge of SQL and ISTBQ certification will be an added advantage.
- Excellent spoken and written communication in English.
- Has time management skills to meet the tight deadlines.
