Job Description
This role focuses on custom theme and plugin development, performance optimization, and plugin configuration to ensure fast, secure, and maintainable websites. You will work on Gravity Forms customization, caching strategies, and WordPress optimizations while collaborating with various teams to enhance website speed, security, and overall functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Custom WordPress Development:
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins to meet project needs
- Optimize theme and plugin performance by following best coding practices
- Implement structured data & schema markup to improve SEO and AI search visibility
- Use best practices for PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to build scalable WordPress solutions
- Performance & Optimization:
- Optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FID) for SEO & UX improvements
- Implement Cloudflare APO, Brotli compression, Polish (WebP), and HTTP/3 for faster page loads
- Optimize server-side caching (Redis, object caching, MySQL query tuning)
- Configure and fine-tune WP Rocket, Perfmatters, and Cloudflare caching settings
- Reduce TTFB (Time to First Byte), asset load times, and unnecessary script bloat
- Plugin Configuration & Maintenance:
- Configure and optimize Gravity Forms for lead capture, conditional logic, API integrations, and automation
- Manage and optimize SEO plugins (RankMath, SEOPress) to improve search visibility
- Optimize WooCommerce sites (if applicable) for better speed and efficiency
- Ensure best practices for security, uptime, and WordPress updates
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work with the SEO & Marketing Teams to implement performance-focused best practices
- Collaborate with the Frontend Dev & UX/UI Teams to ensure a seamless, optimized user experience
- Support the Dev Team with code reviews, version control (Git), and scalable development practices
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in WordPress theme and plugin development
- Strong expertise in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with Gravity Forms customization, API integrations, and conditional logic optimization
- Deep understanding of MySQL performance tuning, Redis caching, and database optimization
- Familiarity with performance-driven hosting solutions (Cloudways, Kinsta, WP Engine)
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, Core Web Vitals, and structured data implementation
- Experience with Git version control and CI/CD workflows
