Stewart Pakistan Private Limited is hiring a Database Administrator I (SQL Server/Azure) to join our infrastructure team, supporting on-premises SQL Server and Azure SQL environments for our US-based operations.

What You'll Do
Monitor database health, jobs, and alerts across on-prem SQL Server and Azure SQL
Perform daily health checks — backups, disk space, SQL services, error logs
Respond to and resolve incidents/tickets within SLA
Perform and verify backups/restores; troubleshoot failed jobs
Manage user access, logins, roles, and basic permissions
Monitor blocking, long-running queries, and basic performance issues
Support HA setups (Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, Azure geo-replication) at a monitoring level
Track Azure SQL DTU/vCore utilization and PITR/backup status
Document activities and prepare shift handover reports
Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams
What We're Looking For
2–4 years of experience in SQL Server administration
Basic knowledge of T-SQL, indexes, deadlocks, and blocking
Familiarity with backup/restore and recovery models
Basic understanding of Azure SQL Database / Managed Instance concepts
Exposure to monitoring tools (SCOM, Redgate, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor, etc.) is a plus
Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-first attitude
Good to Have:
Microsoft certification (DP-900, DP-300, or SQL Server certs)
Basic PowerShell/Azure CLI scripting
Awareness of other cloud databases (AWS RDS)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
